Good question.
I think there were opportunities I blindly ignored, simply because I thought it was “the truth”.
years ago when everything was going pear shaped for me in my personal life and in the congregation, i saw my opportunity to leave.
i had no friends, the elders didn't like me and i was one step away from resigning.
i had nothing to lose.. this was back in '97 before i got the internet.. one of my regrets is that i didn't leave when i had the chance.

Hi WC,
Yes, it was a very interesting and confronting documentary.
An Independent senator here in Australia tried to get the Australian govt to make an official inquiry into that cult, but unfortunately it did not get passed through.

in the african country of lesotho, one of the two assemblies will take place in "holy trinity hall".
witnesses can be quite pragmatic.
remember we had to rent room in a community building for our kingdom hall... it was fun when they talked about the paganism of christmas and a christmas three was placed in the corner.. i wonder if witnesses have deposits in the banco espirito santo... .
Here in Australia, conventions were regularly held at race courses.
with bizarre names like pac-man, asteroids, space invaders, battlezone and donkey kong, video games have landed themselves not only in amusement arcades but also in corner drugstores, supermarkets, gas stations, fast-food parlors and nearly everywhere else that people congregate.
their beeps and booms and colorful lights have captured the fancy and imagination of a new generation of players to the point of obsession.. other than the obvious appeal to teenagers and its commercial success, the proliferation of arcade video games has triggered reactions ranging from strong parental protests to outright government bans.
in the philippines, president marcos officially banned the games and gave owners two weeks to destroy them.

When I was in primary (US, elementary) school, I was the odd one out who didn’t salute the flag, sing the national anthem or participated in holiday festivities. I didn’t have too bad a time until I got into high school and the girls started to get bitchy.

recently, in my area, a number of people have gotten caught looking to pay for sex from a call girl.
a catholic priest was one of the "johns" that got arrested.. i know there are some that argue that it is debasing.
still, for a million years, it's been going on and there are willing parties who want to engage in this activity.. if two consenting adults want to have sex with one another and are willing to pay and accept the services, is it a horrible thing, in your opinion?.
No.
My great-grandfather was from Crete.
My sister and I went there 17 years ago but we didn’t find any relatives, although there are some very distant cousins still living there.
